Thyon 2000 is situated on the foothills of the Alps from which one has a great panoramic view. All buildings are designed around the main square and form an autonomous village. The hotels, chalets and holiday apartments blend in well with the rest of the village. Thyon 2000 has also been described as a mountain oasis. The shops, bars and restaurant are located on the ground-floor level of the residential buildings. 
During the summer many events take place such as a guided excursion to the Grande-Dixence-dam or a tour along the ‘Bisse de Vex’ (an old local canal-system). You can fly over the Alps or go on beautiful hikes. In Thyon 2000 you can stay in comfortable hotels, cosy chalets and lovely holiday apartments. In winter the area turns into a ski resort. There is guaranteed to be snow not only because of the location but also because of the snowmaking system. From mid-December to late April you can do winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. There are 400km of slopes. In addition, there are husky-sledge rides, fondues, torch skiing, paragliding, etc.
