 Saas-Grund forms the heart of the Saas Valley, which lies in southern Switzerland near Italy. Visitors are welcome in the Valaisian village and it offers many holiday apartments, chalets and hotels. It is an ideal starting point for the legendary Saas high trails. When hiking on the Hohsaas (3100m) you can enjoy a breathtaking view of all the surrounding 4000m high mountains. The Saas Valley offers 350km of hiking trails and other outdoor activities such as summer skiing and snowboarding, mountain bike tours, miniature golf, horse trekking, mountaineering for kids and drives to see the sunrise. In winter there is guaranteed to be snow because of the high altitude. There are numerous slopes of varying levels of difficulty that go up to 3600m above
