Les 4 Vallées: Skiing holiday in Les Quatre Vallées Verbier – Nendaz – Veysonnaz - Skiing area – winter holidays

In the Swiss canton of Valais the four southern side valleys of the Rhône Valley and six villages has united under the name "Les Quatre Vallées" to a gigantic linked skiing area. The result is a skiing area of the superlatives!

Skiing and snowboarding
The highest point of the skiing area is the summit of Mont Fort at 3330 m, where also the skiing skills have to fulfil highest demands. Apart from that the 330 km of ski runs in the entire ski region are classified as predominantly moderately difficult to easy, so that from the beginner to the professional everyone can find appropriate runs.

In the area of Thyon the ski runs begin directly above the village. At the Croix de Coeur, between Verbier and La Tzoumaz, near Thyon 2000 and Nendaz the easy to moderately difficult ski runs form the basis so that also families and beginners feel comfortable. In between also real expert skiers can get their money’s worth once and again. Moreover the area Les Quatres Vallées is an Eldorado for fans of ski tours, mogul slopes and steep rock slopes.

The ski pass for the entire region is worthwhile only for professionals, as you have to be very briskly on the way to make use of the enormous area. For not so experienced skiers the lower priced ski passes for Verbier or La Printze (Thyon 2000/Les Collons, Nendaz and Veysonnaz = 150 km of ski runs) are probably the better choice.

Snowboard specials
The entire region is a very popular destination for snowboarders, as with the construction of special parks and the organisation of numerous events one has attuned to this target group. In the Funpark with halfpipe near Thyon are fun and action the order of the day, likewise in the area of Verbier in the Funpark "1936 Neigepark" near La Chaux where you find tables, gaps, kickers, railpark, box and pyramid. The snow park of Nendaz even splits up his facilities into beginner and advanced park. The beginner park is near the slope "Jean Pierre" and the advanced park with twin table, kicker, hip, box, C-box, downrail, downbox as well as wallride on the slope "Alpage".

Cross-country skiing
The number of cross-country ski runs can not at all keep up with the offer of trails in Les Quatres Vallées. However, each village provides in the proximity of town a small cross-country ski run.
