  The village of Gstaad is the centre of the region
of the
Bernese Oberland. The hotels, chalets and holiday apartments are
furnished in a cosy yet traditional style. Many restaurants, shops and
hotels line the city centre. The surroundings offer various ski
resorts and possibilities for hiking, all of which can be reached by
the mountain railway. You can also go rock climbing in Saanenland-Pays
d’Enhaut or even ice climbing on the glacier above the Col du Pillon
or close to Lake Lauenen.

budgets. If you would like to see the Alps from above, go paragliding,
take a hot-air balloon tour or ride in a helicopter. In winter you can

 In Gstaad you can go skiing, snowboarding and hiking
at 3000m above sea level. The ski resort is accessible via the
mountain railway. Have fun on the 220km of slopes. Snowboarders can in
addition use one of the fun parks and the bars invite you to wind
down. Relax in one of the beautiful hotels or enjoy some peace and
quiet in one of the holiday apartments. Ice-skating, snowshoeing and
cross-country skiing are other options you can try out.
