The
two world well-known villages of Davos and Klostes in the Swiss canton
of Grisons (Graubünden) with their excellent skiing area attract each
year visitors from all over the world. The belles and the rich ones
meet here just as completely normal ski tourists, families or
snowboarders are attracted to the fantastic ski runs.
Skiing and snowboarding
The skiing area covers altogether approximately 260 km of ski runs,
whereby the highest point of the skiing area, the 2844 m high
Weissfluhgipfel, is meant to be the central starting point. Here you
have access to some most beautiful but also most difficult ski runs.
Also from here you have via the Parsenn area and the Gotschnagrat the
connection to Klosters and into the family-friendly Madrisa skiing
area, on the other side of Klosters. The Madrisa area offers besides
many sunny pleasure slopes also marvellous deep powder snow slopes
high above at the Rätschanjoch. The majority of the ski runs in the
region appeal to skiers with medium-level skills, but also beginners
or families find everywhere distributed easy terrain for stress-free
skiing.
On the other side of the Landwassertal valley there are the
independent ski areas Pischa, Jakobshorn and Rinerhorn placed next to
each other with a varied offer of ski runs. Particular the Jakobshorn
area is appreciated by snowboarders. These three skiing areas can
easily be reached by the Rhaetian Railway, which runs in the bottom of
the valley.
Snowboard specials
The Jakobshorn is that area for snowboarders. At the Bolgen a
superpipe provides fun and action and the Powerade Snowpark offers
everything the snowboarder’s heart desire: kickerlines, rails, boxes,
rollers. The Funpark in the Pischa area is situated directly next to
the Mitteläli ski lift and offers kicker, corners, rails and
quarterpipes. There are boardercross courses on Madrisa, Pischa and
Parsenn. |
