The high altitude regions of the canton Bern in Switzerland are called the Bernese Oberland. The unique mountain scenery is stunning. The gigantic mountains, above all the threesome Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are some of the most amazing natural beauties of Switzerland. Well-known holiday spots such as Grindelwald and Interlaken are ideal starting points to access the firn covered over 4000m high mountains.

In winter the Bernese Oberland offers great ski resorts with excellent slopes. However, such lakes as Lake Thun and Brienz, two of the most beautiful lakes of the Alps, also form part of the Bernese Oberland. The area is also known for its winding mountain passes and thunderous waterfalls. In the Lauterbrunnen Valley over 70 waterfalls cascade into the valley. Don’t forget to take advantage of the culinary specialities of the region.
