Aletsch: The skiing areas on the Aletsch Glacier
The linked slope network of Aletsch with Bettmeralp, Riederalp, Fiescheralp
Hotels - chalets – holiday apartments - winter holidays- holidays

The largest and most powerful glacier of the Alps, the Aletsch Glacier, forms the impressive scenery for the skiing areas of Belalp, Bettmeralp, Fiescheralp and Riederalp, which are placed side by side at sunny-spoiled altitude high above the Rhône Valley.

Skiing and snowboarding
Each of the four skiing areas offer a variety of ski runs, so that all over the place skiers and snowboarders with most different demands get their money’s worth. The slopes of Bettmeralp, Fiescheralp and Riederalp are interconnected, so that altogether a very interesting offer with approximately 115 kilometres of ski runs is available. The three resorts are car-free and offer their guests the special luxury to clip on and unstrap the skis right on the doorstep. Not least due to their location each at 2000 m altitude and the resulting snow security, this is possible without any problems.

In this calm, nature-connected region families with children feel particularly well but also real professional skiers and snowboarders won’t get a raw deal there. Quite a few challenges await you for example on the Eggishorn or when skiing down the “Tunnelhang” on the Bettmerhorn. From the Eggishorn you additionally can enjoy an impressive view on the Aletsch Glacier in its entire length.

The Belalp area is not connected with the other areas, as it lies beyond the Massaschlucht - Switzerland’s Grand Canyon. Nevertheless Belap with its altogether 60 km of slopes don’t need to hide. Sunny-spoiled slopes beneath the Hohstocks offer in the upper part real challenges especially for the professionals. Here you find several black runs as well as attractive deep powder snow areas. Further down the offer is rounded off by moderately severe and easy ski runs.

Snowboard specials
Additional offers for snowboarders are found in the Bettmeralp area, where a funpark with halfpipe is available as well as on the Fiescheralp where fun and action is guaranteed on the halfpipe

Cross-country skiing
Each of the resorts provides their guests a small cross-country ski run in addition to the alpine offer (Belalp 2 km, Bettmeralp 5 km, Fiescheralp 10 km and Riederalp 1 km). However, ambitious cross-country skiers, if they really want to go to their limit, rather should change over into the neighbouring Goms area.
