Skiing holiday in Adelboden – Lenk, Switzerland
Winter
holidays – skiing and snowboarding in Adelboden - Lenk
|
 |
The two villages Adelboden and Lenk in the Bernese
Oberland, which are located in neighbouring valleys, have linked their
network of ski runs via a “Skischaukel”, so that winter sportsmen can
enjoy altogether 185 kilometres of ski runs in one of the largest
skiing areas of the Bernese Oberland.
Skiing and snowboarding
The heartland of the skiing area forms the “Skischaukel” between
Adelboden and Lenk, where the extensive and varied area is
predominantly characterised by easy to moderately difficult ski runs.
Here you find the main part of the altogether 185 kilometres of ski
runs. Less experienced winter sportsmen can enjoy especially around
Bühlberg, Metschberg and Hahnenmoos stress-free skiing pleasure. Real
ski enthusiasts will be, however, attracted to the World Cup run at
the Chuenisbergli in the Adelbodener ski area and also many of the
other runs on the Brenggenmäder, Laveygrat, Luegli and Chummi are real
challenges. |

Beside of this main area with the “Skischaukel” there are still
several smaller skiing areas in the region. So for example the
Tschentenalp, which is comfortably accessible with the mountain
railway from the village centre in Adelboden and offers 10 km of
predominantly moderately difficult ski runs. The Enstligenalp with its
14 kilometre of ski runs and the skiing area Elsigen Metsch (Frutigen)
with nevertheless 29 kilometres offer varied slopes offside from the
mass tourism. At the local mountain Betelberg in Lenk lures a
family-friendly network of ski runs of 42 kilometres, which is not
linked with Adelboden via the “Skischaukel”.
It is common to all areas that you can experience the landscape and
nature of the Swiss mountains from its most beautiful side while
exercising your winter sports and at the same time you can take a
break at varied beautiful huts and restaurants.
The area around Adelboden and Lenk is very popular with freeriders –
no matter whether on two boards or on a board. Particularly on the
Engstligenalp one has attuned to the needs of those winter sportsmen.
The Pool Ski Pass grants access to all facilities in the region.
However the purchase of Zone Passes for the smaller skiing areas is
also possible.
Snowboard specials
Snowboarders find here really a little paradise. The Gran Masta Park
on the Hahnenmoos in Adelboden lets stir the snowboarder’s blood with
its 3 kicklines, halfpipe, slide zone as well as numerous other
attractions. The Natural Boarder Park lures onto the Engstligenalp.
Cross-country skiing
Adelboden provides beautiful well-groomed cross-country ski tracks for
its guests both in the valley (ca. 15 km) and at wonderful altitude on
the Engstligenalp (ca. 8 km). Lenk has with ca. 40 kilometres of
cross-country ski runs the by far larger offer. On the Haslerberg the
advantages of a high altitude trail can be enjoyed at 1800 m altitude
and in the Simmental valley cross-country skiers can spend almost
