 Canazei lies at 1465m above sea level at the end of
the Val di Fassa. It used to be the poorest village of the valley, but
is the most renowned of Val di Fassa now and offers many hotels,
holiday apartments and chalets. In winter many visitors come to this
destination, because of the strategic location close to the Dolomite
passes Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia. You can take the gondola lift from
the centre to the ski resort of Belvedere/Col Rodella.
From there you can also get to the ski carroussel of
Sella Ronda. If you drive in the direction of Fedaiajoch, you will get
to the cable car that takes you up to Pian dei Fiacconi. There you can
ski down the slopes until May. Sella Ronda, 23km long, goes through
four of the most famous valleys and winter sport destinations in the
Dolomites: Canazei in Val di Fassa, Wolkenstein in Grödner Valley,
Corvara in Alta Badia and Arabba in Livinallongo. |
Sella Ronda does not
only offer great slopes, but also an impressive mountain panorama.
Rosengarten, Sassongher, Kreuzkofe, Schlern, Tofana and Marmolada
offer a unique backdrop, which time and again makes skiers and
snowboarders pause to admire the marvellous panorama of the mountains.
Canazei is also popular with visitors in summer. There are comfortable
hotels, quaint chalets, cosy holiday apartments and a spacious holiday
house to stay in. There are many hiking trails that attract visitors.
On kilometres of trails you can explore the marvellous and still
untouched nature. Rock climbers can use the artificial walls and
natural gardens. In Canazei you can enjoy nature, do lots of sports,
attend events and experience culture, relax or enjoy the nightlife.
