Isarwinkel lies 60km South of Munich between Tegernsee and Walchensee
and is also called the gate to Karwendel. Lenggries is a known spa (at
700m above sea level) and is the main village of Isarwinkel. Lenggries
is especially popular in winter, the sunny ski resort lies at the foot
of the 1556m high Brauneck.
Thanks to the altitude and snow making machines, skiing is possible
from December until April. The resort is ideal for families. The
gondola lift as well as the three chair lifts and various T-Bar lifts
take skiers up the mountain, so they can enjoy the slopes of different
levels of difficulty. The slopes as well as the cross-country skiing
trails are well-kept. Further popular activities include taking a
sleigh ride, sledging, ice stock sport and ice-skating on the new
natural ice rink.
Afterwards you have the option of relaxing and enjoying yourself in
the warm water of the public bath „Isarwelle Lenggries“.
In summer, you can go for great hikes. One of the nicest hikes is the
route from Gratsteig at Brauneck to Achselköpfen in front of the
Benediktenwand. The breathtaking panorama is a constant companion on
all trails. Numerous hotels are available, but you can also rent a
holiday house. Visit Lenggries and enjoy its hospitality.
