Inzell lies in Bavaria’s most Southern corner. There are various
winter sports on offer. The world champions of speed skating such as
Anni Friesinger, Ricco Gross and Evi Sachenbacher come from here.
Winter sports are important here, whether biathlon, cross-country
skiing, (Alpine) skiing, snowboarding, sledging or speed skating, all
are possible here. A visit to the Chiemgau means you are able to watch
many famous sports events and competitions. If you take a walk through
the snow-covered landscape or go cross-country skiing, you will be
able to enjoy the beauty of the glittering snow particularly well. Ice
stock sport is another popular activity. The Chiemgau can be easily
reached via the Autobahn, which also divides the area in two. In the
South you will find the mountains of the Chiemgau Alps and in the
North lie the hills and lakes around the Chiemsee and Waginger Lake.
In summer you can go hiking and mountaineering here. Kilometres of
trails are marked for visitors. To cool down you can go to the public
bath. There is a variety of accommodation available in Inzell,
something for every taste and budget.
