Hindelang lies at 825m above sea level in the wide Ostrach Valley, the
nature reserve of the Allgäu Alps and one of the sunniest spots in
Germany. The holiday destination Bad Hindelang with its six districts
is said to be very salutary.
The ski resort is of a manageable size, yet boasts quite challenging
slopes. The area is very laid back and families appreciate it
especially. The best-known ski resort in the Ostrach Valley is the
Oberjoch. It is the highest village with skiing possibilities in
Germany at 1136m. Snow is therefore guaranteed. In addition, snow
making machines are used should there not be enough snow.
Cross-country skiing can be done through the high moor. On the
well-kept hiking trails you can get into neighbouring Tyrol in
Austria. A sleigh ride is a lovely way to enjoy the winter landscape.
In the summer, a great hiking region is yours. You can take the
mountain railway to start from higher up. From there you have a
fantastic view both of the valley and the mountains. Mountain biking
is ideal here. The trails are well prepared and offer the right route
