In Val d’Isère every skier will find the right slope.
There are both pistes for beginners as well as steep slopes for pros.
The first ski lifts were used here already in the 1930s. In 1992 the
Winter Olympics took place in Val d’Isère. The ski resort „Espace
Killy“ gets its name from the threefold winner of the Olympics who was
born in Grenoble, Jean-Claude Killy. It encompasses both Val d’Isère
and Tignes. You will have a lovely view of the sides of Mont Blanc
from Val d’Isère. Holidays here are great also during the summer. The
national park Parc de la Vanoise is very close and forms an important
refuge for Alpine flora and fauna. You can take the teleferic up to
Mont Bochor (2070m), visit the national park and start out on lovely
hikes.
In Val d’Isère you will find plenty of comfortable
accommodation both in hotels and in holiday apartments. A holiday
house offers enough space. There is something in all categories and
for all budgets.
