The ski resort of Chamrousse is only half an hour’s drive from
Grenoble and lies in the mountain range of Belledonne. On the other
side lies the mountain range of Le Vercors and La Chartreuse.
Chamrousse attracts many visitors because of its easy accessibility.
Chamrousse formed part of the location of the Winter Olypmics in
Grenoble in 1968 beneath the Croix de Chamrousse. There is always
plenty of snow during winter and many families and students spend
their holidays here because of the reasonable prices. During the
summer months the location is great for hiking and other activities.
Inspite of the large number of visitors during the day, the nightlife
is quite quiet. Many hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments offer
accommodation at different prices. A holiday house in Chamrousse
offers plenty of space for a whole family.
