The Austrian town Mondsee lies at an altitude of 493 m in the Hausruckviertel region.

In the Mondsee-countryside, about 27 km away from Salzburg, are the lakes Mondsee and Irrsee situated. In this area you will find beautiful hotels, cosy holiday apartments and chalets. Both lakes are considered as the warmest ones in the Salzkammergut. The landscape around these two upland lakes is rather gentle. Here you can hike along beautiful adventure trails and reach also the neighbouring lakes Attersee, Wolfgangsee and Fuschlsee. Numerous hiking trails with a length of altogether 100 km you will find exclusively in the Mondess-countryside. Circular routes are very popular and allow half-day and day trips, special experiences of nature await you here. Other sporty activities are also offered. In the Mondsee surf and sailing school you can engage in water sports. Playing tennis, golfing, mountain biking are further popular leisure activities.
