The
city of Kitzbühel is considered to be nearly an ideal destination for
the winter holiday. Therefore the accommodation supply such as hotels,
holiday apartments and chalets is large. Kitzbuehl is said to be the
“cradle of the Austrian winter sports” and lies at the foot of the
Wilde Kaiser. The region is situated at an altitude of 800 meters and
embedded between Kitzbüheler Horn, Bichlalm and Hahnenkamm.
Due to the extremely advantageous northwest position you find snow
security from December to April. The slopes have a total length of
over 150 kilometres. Natural toboggan runs, kilometre long
cross-country ski runs and winter hiking trails make this region to a
popular winter sports paradise. For the many guests there are hotels,
holiday apartments and chalets of various sizes available. As the
classical one among the skiing areas Kitzbühel is an Eldorado of the
superlatives and considered to be one of the most famous winter sports
centres in Austria at the foot of the Hahnenkamm (1,712 m) and the
Kitzbüheler Horn (1,996 m).
Also in summer the region proves to be a real hiking paradise.
Altogether ca. 95 different tours varying in duration and degrees of
difficulty are available.
