Every year in winter an international
public meets in and around Kitzbühel and enjoys here the unique
mixture of sophisticated urban flair and rural alpine charm. Not in
vain, has "Kitz" many regular guests!
Skiing and snowboarding
In the ski region of Kitzbühel/Kirchberg/Jochberg/Pass Thurn a network
of altogether ca. 168 km of slopes of all difficulty levels attracts
skiers and snowboarders. The slopes on the Hahnenkamm, on the
Steinbergkogel as well as on the Pengelstein are particularly popular.
Once you also should undertake the ski safari route from Jochberg to
Pass Thurn. A further highlight is certainly the "Streif", where the
famous Hahnenkamm race takes place. This route is suitable, however,
only for very good skiers, all the others should alternatively choose
the "Familienstreif".
The Hahnenkamm and the Kitzbüheler Horn are real Eldorados for
snowboarders. Both the special funsport facilities and the huge
freeride areas stir the snowboarder’s blood.
Snowboard Specials
Best freeride possibilities on the Kitzbüheler Horn you find within
the area of the Egg lift as well as between the summit and the
Brunellenfeld lift. Boardercross, halfpipe with sound equipment, giant
slalom as well as radar course leave no desires unfulfilled. The
destination for snowboarders on the Hahnenkamm is the Kasereck and
Silberstuben downhill run. Here, a huge snowboard area promises pure
fun and action. |
