The skiing area of Galtür in the Tyrolean
Paznaun Valley
Ski runs – cross-country ski runs – skiing holidays
Galtür lies at snow secure altitude of
1600 m at the end of the Paznaunt Valley. In winter you find here
really a dead-end road, since the road, which leads from here further
on across the Bielerhöhe into the Montafon, is closed in winter.
Spend in Galtür a recreational skiing holiday in a varied,
family-friendly skiing area - perhaps to contrast with the
neighbouring resort of Ischgl, where during the day on the slopes as
well as in the evening at the après-ski you can spend a very turbulent
time.
Skiing and snowboarding
The particularly snow secure skiing area of Galtür extends beneath the
Ballunspitze from 1,635 m altitude up to 2,297 m. The mostly tree-free
area has altogether 40 kilometres of well-prepared ski runs, which are
supplemented by 20 kilometres of deep snow variants. Ten lift
facilities carry skiers and snowboarders comfortably up to the
mountain.
The slopes are predominantly moderately severe, but also beginners or
families with children will feel comfortable for example on the
family-friendly downhill run from the Birkhahnkopf.
