Holiday in Piedmont - holiday „at the foot of the mountains“
Holiday apartments, holiday houses and hotels

Piedmont is the northwesternmost region of Italy. In the north, in the alpine region, it borders on Switzerland and in the west on France. As in the north of Piedmont the summits of the Alps soar up to over 4,000 m, it becomes quite flat in the south in the area of the Po Valley.

From the tourist’s point of view are especially the following contrasting areas in the Piedmont interesting:

- Lake Maggiore, one of the popular Upper Italian lakes, partly belongs to the region of Piedmont and offers to the holidaymakers a perfect symbiosis of water and mountains. The same applies to the small Lake Orta, which lies somewhat to the west of Lake Maggiore.

- The landscape in the hilly area southeast of Piedmont, called Langhe, is probably best known to gourmets. Its largest town, Alba, is known as the Italian truffle capital. Also the wines from this area, Barolo, Barbera and Barbaresco, are world-famous.

- But also in the Alps the Piedmont has to offer interesting holiday destinations. Sestriere is a well-known winter sports place, located close to the French border. The place became famous at the latest in the year 2006, when with the Olympic Winter Games of Turin the ski competitions were hold in Sestriere.

The Aosta Valley belongs only geographically to the Piedmont, politically however it has a special status as autonomous region. The magnificent nature sceneries of Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa as well as the Gran Paradiso National Park promise a unique mountain experience for hikers, mountain climbers and climbers. Particularly in winter the well-known ski areas attract numerous winter sportsmen near Courmayeur, La Thuile, Pila, Cervinia (connection to the ski area of Zermatt/Switzerland) and Monterosa.

Even though the holiday regions are very different in the Piedmont, even though they have one thing in common: A large choice of accommodations for everybody’s taste is everywhere available. Choose from our offers of holiday apartments, holiday houses and hotels in the Lombardy the suitable accommodation according to your wishes.
