 Along
the long shoreline of the third biggest lake in Upper Italy there are
numerous places, which are worth a visit. High mountains frame the
lake and let make the hearts of hikers, mountain climbers and mountain
bikers leap for joy. In connection with the different water sport
possibilities, the Italian joy of life and the delicacies from the
Italian kitchen is this mixture just unbeatable and there is nothing
what stands in the way of spending relaxed holidays.

Como
In the “capital city “of the lake there are numerous ancient buildings
to visit, first of all of course the massive cathedral. Another “place
of interest “is the long pedestrian zone with its many beautiful and
partly also quite exclusive shops. Many prominent figures possess a
(secondary) residence on Lake Como. How convenient, that a luxury
material such as silk plays an important role in Como, because
especially in the past the silk factory of Como was very famous.
Varenna
The picturesque town of Varenna lies at the eastern side of Lake Como,
off the transit traffic. The small fishing port and the sea-promenade,
on which you can stroll and savour the moment are particularly lovely.
A highlight is the view on the lake from Castello di Vezio situated
above Varenna.
Bellagio
 Already
due to its location the small town of Bellagio is something special.
It is situated exactly at the apex of the two arms of the lake, which
has the form of an upside down “Y”. The picturesque, car free old part
of town with its narrow streets and stairs extends itself partly up
the mountain. The sea-arcades are also very beautiful. Dreamlike
villas and parks lie partly hidden on the lakeshore. One of them is
the Villa Serbelloni, which belongs today to a luxury hotel, whose
marvellous parks are publicly accessible. However the Villa Melzi can
be visited. This villa as well surrounded by a wonderful park.
Villa Carlotta / western shore
In this famous villa close to the town of Tremezzo an extensive art
collection can be visited. Another treasure is without doubt the large
park, which is especially famous for its azaleas and rhododendrons.
Gravedona
The nice lakeside-promenade as well as the Pallazzo Gallio are main
attractions of this beautiful small town situated on the northwest end
of the lake.
